Selected in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft and was the 94th overall selection…was selected one pick before Philadelphia drafted his Virginia teammate, WR Billy McMullen, with the 95th pick (they were the only two Cavaliers drafted in '03)…was the 15th linebacker selected in the 2003 Draft.

COLLEGE: Started his final three seasons at Virginia…set the school's tackle record as a junior and then broke it as a senior… only Charles McDaniel (432, 1982-85) and Jamie Sharper (435, 1993-96) had more tackles in a career then his 420 for the Cavaliers…his 10 forced fumbles are one shy of the school's all-time record of 11 by Stuart Anderson (1978-81)…is one of three players in school history to play in 50 collegiate games (including bowls)…was a second-team All-America choice as a senior by The NFL Draft Report as well as a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection…that year was also selected as a team captain and a co-recipient of the Ned McDonald Award for the second straight season, given to the team's most outstanding defensive player.
